God's Mission

Our desire to go and minister among the people of Cologne is a response to the mission of God in this world. We recognize that we are simply a small part in a great work that God has been doing since the early days of humankind. This mission is the ministry of reconciliation: "that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them." (2 Cor. 5:19)

This mission which God is on springs from his own heart of love and compassion. From the first rebellion God has been pursuing humanity relentlessly. We see that even in the Old Testament, God's mission to reconcile with the rebellious world is present. In his covenant with Abraham, God declares, "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you...and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." (Gen. 12:2-3)

With the coming of Jesus Christ and the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, God has chosen to include the weak and imperfect men and women of the Church in this great undertaking. Each and every person who calls themselves followers of Jesus Christ has a stake in the missionary enterprise. For this reason, we have given our lives to serving Jesus Christ by building up his Church in Germany.

If you wish to participate with God in this ministry, one of the most powerful ways in through prayer. Organizations such as Operation World mobilize lay believers in praying for the reconciliation of the nations to God. Commit to praying for a new country every day that God would lift obstacles and open up doors that people might hear the Good News and believe.
